Chief Akin Oshuntokun, a former political adviser to Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo has described the Aje festival as a project that will promote the Yoruba culture, stating that it will play a huge role in the history of the Yoruba’s race.

“The festival is promoting the Yoruba culture and traditions and it will serve as a bond between the Yoruba traditional worshippers”.

The Ekiti born professor further urged political parties and the electorates in Ekiti State to cooperate with the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the smooth success of the election, while urging them to avoid any electoral violence capable of derailing the conduct of the election.

Chief Akin Oshuntokun stated that he was optimistic that the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) would win the gubernatorial election in Ekiti State.

Speaking on the efforts to facilitate the release of Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Igboho, he said, “Tremendous efforts are ongoing to make sure Sunday Igboho is set free but I cannot dictate to the Benin Government when he will be released, but I can assure you that his fundamental human rights will not be trampled upon.”

He further added that the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Adeyeye is taking concrete steps to ensure that the freedom fighter is released from prison.
