The Obalodo-designate of Ilodo-Oye-Ekiti in Ekiti State, Mr. Bamitale Oguntoyinbo, has called for unity among traditional rulers in Yorubaland, saying it is time to speak with one voice.

Oguntoyinbo, a former Chairman, Oye-Ekiti Local Government Area, also urged them to uphold the tenets of culture and tradition of their various communities.

He made the call at Ilode-Ife in Osun State on Sunday when he led a delegation of son’s and daughter’s of Ilodo-Oye-Ekiti on a visit to the Obaloran of Ilode-Ife, Oba Sakariyau Olanusi, in his palace.

Describing the visit as home coming to the ancestral source, Oguntoyinbo said the visit was to show appreciation for the roles played by the traditional ruler of their source at ensuring enthronement of the new Obalodo, 24 years after the seat has been vacant in the community.

Oguntoyinbo said healthy development could only be achieved through genuine peace and unity, adding that sustaining unity among the traditional rulers was panacea to finding lasting solutions to the problems confronting the country.

He said that the Nigeria would be better off, if traditional rulers across the country could speak with one voice on national issues.
