The Ekiti State Ministry of Women’s Affairs and Social Development has congratulated the wife of the Governor of Ekiti State, Erelu Bisi Fayemi on the conferment of ‘Woman Leader Of The Year’ by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and United Nations (UN) in Abuja.
In a congratulatory message by the Hon. Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Alhaja Maryam Ogunlade, the commissioner stated that the award is a deserved honor for Erelu Bisi Fayemi.
She further stated that the significant roles of the Ekiti first lady in areas of promoting child and women’s rights, fight against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) among others are an indications that she deserves more accolades.
Alhaja Ogunlade further commended Mrs. Fayemi for promoting the cause and interest of women and indigent children in the state while urging her not to relent in her philanthropic work.
