Ekiti Local Government Pensioners Elect New Executives, Make Demands

The newly elected Chairman of Local Government Pensioners Association of Nigeria (LOGPAN) in Ekiti State, Comrade Babatunde Adelugba has pledged his commitment towards the growth of the association.

He stated this during the inauguration of the newly elected executive members of LOGPAN Ekiti State chapter, during the week in Ado Ekiti.

He further appealed to the State government to pay the seven months backlog of arrears and accumulated gratuities of the pensioners from 2013 to date while promising to work in collaboration with the Nigerian Union of Pensioners (NUP) leadership to resolve the issues affecting the pensioners in the state.

Mr. Adelugba further posited that the Ekiti LOGPAN members have served the government while admonishing the government to see them as senior citizens and partners in progress towards the development of the State.

The chairman, however, pledged to use his good offices to engage the government to see to the payment of outstanding dues including pensions and gratuities of the members of the association.

Speaking further, The Ekiti State chairman of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners (NUP), Mr. Akinola urged the participants to always adhere to the motto of the union which states that ‘rest is sweet after labor’.

The NUP chairman admonished the newly elected executives to be accountable, trustworthy and apolitical.

The newly appointed executives include the Chairman, Comrade Babatunde Adelugba, Vice Chairman, Comrade Ogunremi Emily, Secretary, Comrade Alfonso Victor Osita, and Treasurer Comrade Adu Juliana Olubunmi among others.
