As the Ekiti State gubernatorial election approaches, the Segun Oni Movement has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of entering into an unholy alliance to fraudulently get victory at all costs three months ahead of the June 18 governorship election.

The group noted that following the recent signing of the Electoral Act by President Muhammadu Buhari, investigations across the state’s three major towns- Ilawe, Ikere, and the state capital, Ado Ekiti, had revealed plans by the major parties to deploy what they tagged ‘See-and-buy’ strategy.

This was the strategy, the group noted in a statement by Jackson Adebayo, the Director of Media and Publicity of the Segun Oni Movement, allegedly used by the camp of former Governor Ayodele Fayose to clinch victory at the last primaries of the Ekiti State PDP, in addition to possibly importation of thugs from neighbouring states to disrupt voting on election day.

The Segun Oni group warned of a grand plan to compromise security operatives on duty through bribing, especially men of the Nigerian Police expected to aid and abet the ‘see and buy’ strategy.

Their major accomplices, the statement continued, would be personnel of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) who would be allegedly lured into the booby trap of upturning the result of a free, fair, and credible election result.
