Day Adeyemi Federal University Of Education’s Alumni Association Elected New Officers In Ekiti

Adeyemi Federal University of Education Ondo, Ekiti State branch has formally inaugurated and elected new set of executives to run the affairs of the association.

The event, which was held at the Ekiti State University Staff Club, Ado Ekiti over the weekend attracted old students of the institution in large numbers.

Speaking, Dr. Seun Oyewale, the convener of the meeting commended members of the association for turning out impressively to honor their Alma Mater while charging them to continue to seek the uplift of the institution.

Speaking, Dr. Yemi Olugbamigbe, the Acting National Secretary of the association stated, “Ekiti State is referred to as the fountain of knowledge and I am not disappointed by what I have seen today. It shows that people still have the interest of their Alma Mater at heart and we will soon begin to reap the fruit of this coming together and the inauguration of this state branch of the association”.

He maintained that the products from the school have a tradition of doggedness to be relevant in the society while assuring that the new executives will work hard for the benefit of the association.

Continuing, Olugbamigbe revealed that Ekiti State has one of the largest population of alumni members of the institution apart from Ondo and Osun States while urging the newly elected executive officers to seek for the inclusion of more members of the association.

He, however, urged notable members of the association such as Chief Ayo Ademilua, Ambassador Wale Ojo Lanre and others notable alumni to contribute their quota to the growth of the association in the state while assuring that the crop of leaders installed to pilot the affairs of the association in the state was a welcome development.

In an interview with PMParrot, Dr. Charles Adeniranye, the Acting Director, Directorate of Alumni Association and Statistics of the institution, who represented the Provost of the college, Dr. Samuel Akintunde urged the old students of the school not to relent in their efforts in ensuring that the school achieves greater heights.

“I am impressed with the kind of relationship that is seen here today even though we have different graduating sets from 1992 to 2007.  I am assured that the association in Ekiti State has a very bright future”.

The newly elected executives included Dr. Seun Oyewale as the state chairman; Mr. Tunbosun Akole, Vice Chairman; Mr. Ademola Adetolaju, Secretary, Mr. Steve Oni, Assistant State Secretary.

Others included Mr. Emmanuel Adeniran the Public Relations Officer; Mrs. Mojisola Osanyilusi  Treasurer; Mrs. Ajayi Folakemi, Financial Secretary; Mr. Babalola Olutosin  Social Director and Mrs. Adedeji Folakemi, Welfare Officer.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Dr. Seun Oyewale described his election as a call to duty and responsibility expressing optimism that the association is going to succeed in  Ekiti State.
