Ekiti Guber: Yiaga Africa Ready To Deploy Automated Electronic Machines

Yiaga Africa, a non-governmental organization has revealed that it will deploy a scientific methodology known as Parallel Vote Tabulation, (PVT) to monitor the fast-approaching Ekiti State gubernatorial election.

The methodology according to the organization has the capacity to verify election result, vote trading and give timely information about the process.

 He further stated that 541 observers would be deployed to the field for election monitoring across the state.

Yiaga Africa Programme Manager, Paul James stated this during a media chat on Thursday in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.

He stated the methodology had been applied to ten different elections in the country, promising that it would be applicable to the Ekiti State election due to its efficiency.

Responding, the Chairman NUJ, Ekiti State Council, Comrade Rotimi Ojomoyela revealed that the union has set up a task force to check mate the activities of quacks in the industry and to sanction practicing journalists that works against the ethics of the profession.

Mr. Ojomoyela further urged for regular training of Journalists on contemporary methodologies of covering election.
