A Non Governmental Organization, Femimoniolu Foundation has launched a free medical outreach for the residents of Ogotun Ekiti in the Ekiti southwest local government area.

Speaking, the founder of the foundation, Mr Babatunde Oluwasinmirin submitted that the initiative was part of the activities meant to commemorate his father’s burial and to enlighten the people on prevention of diseases.

He said, “The foundation is about sustaining lives. We acknowledge that some terminal diseases are incurable, but some cases of death are preventable and this can be achieved through early diagnosis.”

He further stated that the program would be a continuous one as the foundation had collaborated with various health centers and pharmaceutical outfits in the area to ensure free health service delivery on the bill of the foundation.

“This is not our first humanitarian service, we have been rendering assistance through scholarship and bursary to Ogotun students, but this time, we decided to focus on health because I lost my mother Monisola Oluwasinmirin to cancer and my father Olufemi Oluwasinmirin to blood pressure complications”.

The initiative, which was the first major project of the new NGO, had various medical experts on ground to enlighten people and provide free medical services to residents of the community.

Speaking further, a medical practitioner, Mr Segun Oni urged the residents of the community to take proper care of their health, watch their food intake, engage in regular exercise, and to ensure regular checkups of their blood sugar.

Some of the beneficiaries at the event described the initiator as a philanthropist who has been rendering humanitarian services from his childhood while urging him not to relent.
