The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has tasked the newly graduated students of the Ekiti State University (EKSU) to plan to contribute their quota to the development of the country.

He said, “The institution has given you the wings to fly and as you move into the world out there, aim for the sky and soar high like the eagle.”

Aiyedatiwa stated this during the 25th and 26th combined convocation of the institution on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

The Ondo Deputy Governor further congratulated the leadership of the institution for the successful hosting of the 40th anniversary and joint convocation of the institution describing it as a novel event.

Speaking further at the event, Air Vice Marshall Rufus Adeniyi Ojuawo tasked the federal government to adopt the use of improved economy measures and diplomacy to tackle banditry, terrorism and crime related issues in the country.

He further stated that the there is a need for value reorientation among Nigerians in order to combat the present insecurity facing the country.

He said, “I feel it is time to engage the citizens by inculcating sound moral values into them, this will dissuade their mindset from evil acts. Nigerians are now suffering because of the activities of bandits who have almost taken over the security architecture of the country.

Continuing, the activities of the bandits are getting more uncontrollable because people found it easy to go into banditry as a result of the bad economic status of the country”.

Air Vice Marshall Ojuawo spoke further after he was conferred with Honorary Degree by the EKSU, “I feel excited being recognized by the Ekiti State University’s management. This is a sign that people are watching you and I want to thank the University for deeming it fit to recognize that I have contributed my own quota to the development of the institution, Ekiti State and the nation at large”.
