The Ekiti State Chairman of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Pastor Abegunde Emmanuel Olakunle has resigned his membership from the party.
He revealed this during a news conference in Ado- Ekiti on Tuesday, describing his suspension as untenable.
He said, “Considering the maladministration and unbearable adequacies characterizing the leadership of the party, I would have resigned my membership about three months ago but I realized that doing so might negatively affect the efforts of the candidate in the forthcoming election.
“This is why I decided to endure till the end of the election before tendering my resignation letter. However, it was the national leadership that went on air to announce my unwarranted suspension; I hereby declare that I am quitting the party”.
Pastor Abegunde’s resignation from the party occurred a few days after he received a suspension letter from the national headquarters of the party.
He further stated that despite all the allegations against him, he still maintains a cordial relationship with the party’s gubernatorial candidate Mrs. Kemi Elebute Halle.
