The organizers of the annual Oyo Sports Quiz Imole Sports Entertainment have confirmed 16th of June 2022 for this year’s edition of the extracurricular program designed for both private and public secondary schools in Oyo State.
According to the CEO of the firm organizing the event, Ibraheem Oladimeji, who presents a Yoruba Sports Programme on Premier FM 93.5 Ibadan, more schools have signified interest to participate in the sports quiz introduced to expand students’ knowledge and exploring their new skills at early ages.
The distinguished sports analyst who also works with Fresh FM 105.9 Ibadan disclosed that the program has had positive impact on the students from about 20 schools that took part during the first edition held last year where Glorious Secondary School from Amuloko Ibadan emerged winner, while King Jozzy Private School Aba-Ode and Madibo Islamic Schools were second and third runners up respectively.
While explaining the rationale behind the event, Oladimeji explained that “apart the obvious academic benefits of expanding a student’s knowledge and exploring new skills at an early age, quizzes redefine the education system in significant ways.
He, however, added that quiz also encourages team work, as students need to form teams while participating in quizzes, giving them an opportunity to hone their teamwork skills, while thanking Al Aliyah Hajj and Umrah Limited, Handsome Entertainment Ventures, Kabrinis Phase limited lounge and Restaurants, Flysafe Travel, Debos Motors Al Jatco Filling Station for their huge support towards the event.
