The management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti has urged the students of the institution to shun anti-social vices.

The Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Dayo Oladebeye stated this during the 2021/2022 matriculation ceremony held at the school’s sports arena.

Dr. Oladebeye further stated that anti-social activities such as internet fraud, cultism, hooliganism, prostitution, sexual harassment and examination malpractices would not be condoned in the school.

He said, “Emphasis is tenaciously laid on modest and decent dressing, I will like to advise you to show respect to your colleagues and staff of the polytechnic for a fruitful and productive stay on this campus.

“It is understandable that higher institution is a place where you enjoy a lot of freedom, but sometimes that freedom often comes with some corresponding obligations. Many students through their carelessness have allowed the illusion of freedom of being in higher institution of learning lure them away from the path of seriousness and commitment to studies”.

He, however, urged the students to be committed to their studies and to ensure that they graduate with flying colours.

Dr. Oladebeye stated that the institution has been able to manage its meagre resources to improve the facilities in the institution while warning against vandalization of facilities in the institution.

Highlight of the ceremony included the presentation of ten thousand naira cash gifts to deserving students who performed excellently at the end of the 2020/2021 second semester examinations.
