Lawmakers under the umbrella of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have written a petition against the Deputy Governor, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan over alleged gross misconduct, abuse of office and financial recklessness.
The petition was read during the plenary held on Wednesday by the Clerk of the House, Mrs. Oludara Awe.
While reading the petition signed by the 24 PDP lawmakers, Mrs Awe, disclosed that the step is in line with section 188 of the Constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.
In his reaction, the Speaker of the House, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, gave the Deputy Governor, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan a-seven ultimatum to respond to the allegations.
This is in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended in 2011. Section 188.
