0

The Kimpact Development Initiative (KDI) has revealed its stand on vote buying and other related electoral issues in the ongoing Osun state gubernatorial election.

This was revealed by Mr. Oluwafemi John, the Senior Programme Manager of the KDI in an interview with PMParrot over the weekend.

Mr. Oluwafemi John further stated that it has tracked 63 cases out of which 24 and 39 cases border on electoral violence and non-electoral violence respectively.

He further pointed out that 39 cases of non-electoral deaths were recorded while 23 deaths occurred owing to cult clashes and election related violence.

He further said, “Potential for violence is not actual violence in itself but have the potential to trigger violence, this is an area where security operatives have to stand up to the task. Let them make arrests and prosecute the offenders so that people would know that vote buying is a criminal offence”.
