Following the recommendation of seven-man panel inaugurated by the Chief Justice of Oyo State, the State’s House of Assembly has announced the impeachment of the state’s Deputy Governor, Engineer Rauf Aderemi Olaniyan.
The announcement was made on Monday after the House adopted the recommendations of the report read by the Majority Leader, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin.
The panel set up to investigate allegations levelled against the Deputy Governor, Engr. Olaniyan.
The motion for adoption of the report was moved by Hon. Sunkami Babalola from Egbeda state constituency and seconded by Hon. Babajide Gabriel from Ibadan North state constituency.
Meanwhile, the House has approved the replacement of Engr Olaniyan by Barrister Bayo Lawal as the new Deputy of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde.
