Former Super Eagles winger, Victor Moses has vowed to bounce back strong as he begins his lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Moses suffered a serious injury during the first half of Spartak Moscow’s 2-0 win against Ural on match-day four of the Russian Premier League on Saturday.

The former Chelsea man went down with no contact from the opposition, before being stretchered off the pitch.

The club, on their website on Monday, confirmed that the Nigerian had suffered an Achilles tendon injury and could face up to six months out of action.

Moses has been in fine form for Spartak since the beginning of the 2022/23 season, having bagged two goals in four matches, while enjoying his new role with the Russian club under new manager, Guille Abascal.

Speaking on his return, the 31-year-old vowed to be back stronger.

“Devastated to have suffered an injury in the game at the weekend,” Moses wrote on Twitter.

“I will be doing all I can to recover and get back fully fit as quickly as possible to help the team.

“Thank you so much to everyone at the club and all of the fans for your fantastic support. I’ll be back stronger.”

Moses, who had helped Spartak pick up 10 points from the opening four games as they currently top the league, is expected to be back against Ural on March 4, 2023.
