The Council of Chiefs in Ikole-Ekiti has berated the state’s Deputy Governor, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi over his alleged role in the chieftaincy saga that rocked the different factions in the Ikole kingdom, accusing him of being partisan.

Speaking on behalf of the council in a statement in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday, the Olotin, Chief Sayo Okunola, and the Aremo, Tunde Ogunleye described the actions of Egbeyemi as disdainful and unruly.

The statement read in part, “The Olotin who is the most ranking Chief of Ikole was abruptly interrupted during his presentation by the Deputy Governor. He invited all the Ikole Chiefs and the Executive Chairman to appear before his panel of enquires with documentary evidences but did not allow the same documents he requested to be tendered”.

The council further stated that the Deputy Governor disrespected the chiefs by walking out on them during the meeting.
