I write to specially celebrate our revered father, mentor, academic and trailblazer, Prof. Adeniyi Oluremi Alabi as he joins the octogenarian group today.

Prof. Oluremi Alabi, a Distinguished Lagelite and Physicist belongs to the pioneer set of Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan (1958/63 Class) and has unbeatable records of being the first Lagelite to hold a university degree, first Professor ever produced by the school and the first Lagelite to head a tertiary institution for he is a former Rector, The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

He equally is a former Dean, Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences while it is on record that he founded the Directorate of Pre-Degree Science Programmes at the Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso.

Today, I join hundreds of your admirers, particularly the Lagelu Grammar School Ibadan Old boys family to celebrate this enigma who undoubtedly has promoted the name of Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan throughout the entire world.

Your records are unbeatable as you have carved a niche for yourself and we are all proud to follow your footsteps as an academic and leader of repute sir. May your journey as an octogenarian be blessed with longevity and sound health in Jesus mighty name.
