Super Eagles’ star, Umar Sadiq, needed just 10 minutes to score on his debut for Real Sociedad who held Atletico Madrid to a 1-1 draw in a LaLiga game on Saturday.

The 25-year-old who joined Real Sociedad for a reported €20m plus €5m in add-ons from Spanish La Liga rivals Almeria in a six-year deal last Thursday headed in Mohamed-Ali Cho in the 55th minute for the equaliser after coming on for Alexandre Sorloth at half time.

Alvaro Morata had shot Atletico Madrid into the lead in the fifth minute of play.

Meanwhile, Almeria are set to get 15% of the future sale of Sadiq.

According to Spanish daily, Cadena Ser, The Rojiblancos inserted several clauses in Sadiq’s contract.

Sociedad will have to pay Almeria €1m if the Blue-and-Whites win La Liga and another €750,000 if Sadiq wins the Pichichi award.

The 25-year-old striker has now scored three goals in four La Liga games.

Almeria will also recieve the sum of €750,000 should Real Sociedad reach the semi-finals of the Europa League.

Real Sociedad have been drawn alongside Manchester United, Sheriff Tiraspol and Omonia Nicosia in Group E.

President of Real Soceidad, Jokin Aperribay said, “We will pay €5m based on our European participation and the player’s participation in LaLiga.

“If we qualify for the Europa League, it is one figure; if we qualify for the Champions League, it is another. For European shares, it can be €2m and then there are other payment milestones. “€1m if Real wins LaLiga; “€750,000 if Sadiq is a Golden Boot; “€750,000 if we play in the Champions League semi-finals.

“€20m fixed, two in variables and another three for milestones, which can be €1m or €3m.

“Hopefully, we win LaLiga; hopefully we reach the semi-finals of the Champions League, and hopefully he’ll be Pichichi.”
