The newly installed Mogajis and Baales in Ibadanland were on Monday charged to ensure security in their respective domains through peaceful coexistence of all the residents and prompt report of any breach of the peace to the appropriate quarters.

This charge was goven by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Sen. Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade at the installation of the new community leaders held at the main hall of Aliiwo ruling house, Agodi, Ibadan which had in attendance members of the Olubadan-in-Council and other stakeholders in Ibadan traditional institution.

Oba Balogun, in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan by his Personal Assistant (Media), Oladele Ogunsola told the newly installed Chiefs that they were coming on board at the very critical period in the life of the country in general and Ibadanland in particular as far as security challenges are concerned.

According to the statement, “you have important role to play in your respective family compounds and villages as my representatives. What’s uppermost in my mind since my ascension of the throne is peace in the land and this is anchored on universal belief that it is only in the atmosphere of peace and tranquility that progress, growth and development can take place.

“Your installation is a call to service and promotion of good neighborliness. You are not being installed to revoke the land sold out by your forebears in order to resell and make money, such would not engender peaceful co-existence, rather, it would generate avoidable tension. I urge you all to be my good ambassadors in your respective domains”, Olubadan stated.

The monarch, who commended the security agents for the peaceful conduct of the installation exercise, asking them to keep up the good work maintained that his reign would ensure fairness, equity and justice in the installation of Mogajis and Baales. “I urge all prospective families to do their homeworks properly before coming to the Olubadan-in-Council to make our job simpler”, Oba Balogun said further.

At the installation exercise, where three families produced Chiefs Raheem Wahab Dada, Kabir Adegboyega Oderinlo and Waheed Oyelami and installed as Mogaji Lasokun (Alekuso), Mogaji Oderinlo (Oja’ba) and Mogaji Kehinsi (Ita Baale) respectively, five villages got Baales.

The Baales were Morufu Olaigbe Okeseyin (Okeseyin Village), Kafar Adeniran Lamolo (Lamolo Elerin Village), Wasiu Oyelakin Akobi (Akobi Elemu Village), Bashiru Atilola Adisa (Kiabi Village) and Yekeen Ogunlabi Obisesan (Akanran Aperin Village).
