Southwest Zonal Abridged Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled major committees to ensure victory at the 2023 presidential election for the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The National Vice Chairman of party in the Southwest, Isaac Kekemeke, disclosed this during a press conference, on Wednesday, in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state, where  he stated that the party has set up an APC advisory committee to be headed by former Ekiti State governor, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, which will work with the zonal executives and other leaders of the party to ensure total victory for the party in the February 2023 general elections.

Kekemeke also identified that the committee also set up six reconciliation committees to be headed by eminent leaders in the party and will ensure all in-house rifts are settled, making sure that all party members will work together for 2023 victory.

He equally noted that the APC Southwest Zonal Abridged committee has set up a Southwest Special Committee On Eminent Persons Engagement which will be headed by Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu to ensure that all party stakeholders and leaders are performing their expected duties towards the victory of 2023 presidential election.

Other members include, Senator Iyiola Omisore, Chief Isaac Kekemeke, all the six chairmen of the party in the Southwestern states; Ondo, Ekiti, Lagos, Oyo, Osun, and Ogun, the zonal woman leader of the party, National ex-officials, members of the national executive committee.

While answering questions from newsmen of what exactly are the duties of these committees, Kekemeke said “The committee for the Southwest Special Committee On Eminent Persons Engagement is different from the reconciliation committee. We are setting up six reconciliation teams that will be visiting each of the states, the committee on eminent persons engagement will be identifying leaders of the party who are not doing what they should do, to ensure that all of us are on the same page.

“In all of these, assurances will be given, and there will be benefit for all and no one will be discriminated against”

Responding to questions of if there is any concern for the many support groups in the name of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the National Vice Chairman said “We are not worried at all. It shows the popularity of our candidate, it is good that everybody wants to be seen working for him, and I know that at the appropriate time, they will all be recognized.”

Speaking further, Kekemeke said the APC and its presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, strongly believe that restructuring Nigeria would engender its development and Tinubu had not abandoned his position on true federalism, which he said would make Nigeria run efficiently and bring development to all the constituent units.

“APC believes that Nigeria should be restructured. It’s not just Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who believes in the restructuring of Nigeria, that is the position of our party, APC, that Nigeria ought to be restructured, Nigeria should practice true federalism.

“Our presidential candidate is a democrat and as a progressive, he aligns himself with the position of the party. We can do better with Nigeria by looking at the way it is wrong, by giving more powers to the constituent units and by decentralizing as many issues as possible for effective development,” Kekemeke said.
