Writers in Oyo state under the aegis of the Writers for Democratic Change have declared their support for the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Gov. Seyi Makinde ahead of the 2023 general election.
The group made its position known on Friday after critically analysing the capacity of all the gubernatorial candidates from the different political parties in the state.
Speaking with newsmen immediately after their meeting in Ibadan, Mr. Wole Adedoyin, the Coordinator of the group said Gov. Seyi Makinde has shown capacity and proven quality to govern the state for the next four years.
Wole Adedoyin pledged the collective support of WDC for Governor Seyi Makinde in his effort to position Oyo State as a viable and thriving state.
According to WDC, “We are all witnesses to the structural transformation of our State by Gov. Seyi Makinde and we urge the Governor to continue to do everything within the ambit of the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Oyo State to ensure that the lives and properties of the citizens of Oyo State continue to be protected at all costs
Writers for Democratic Change said their choice of Gov. Seyi Makinde is due to his verifiable capacity and outstanding works done in improving the health, education, agriculture, transportation, Energy, tourism, arts and culture, security sectors of the state. Especially making Oyo State, a health tourism site. Makinde has shown diligence in his work and has been consistent in his service to the state.
