Wife of Ekiti State Governor-elect, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji has received official records and documents of the office of the First Lady.

This was part of activities lined up for the official hand-over of government from the Fayemi-led administration to the incoming administration which would be led by the Governor-elect, Mr Biodun Oyebanji.

Erelu Fayemi who handed over the documents to Dr Oyebanji congratulated the incoming first lady for the victory recorded in the state gubernatorial election, noting that the handing over was necessary for a proper induction into programmes championed by her office.

The First Lady handed over some records and documents which according to her would guide Oyebanji as a member of Nigeria Governors’ Wives Forum.

“I am presenting to you some works which I believe would be useful to you, it is the record of the things that I’ve done in my office in different areas we work in, it covers policy advocacy, my work on sexual and gender based violence, empowerment, women leadership and so on”, she said.

Erelu Fayemi also handed over some publications which, according to her, cover the context within which First Ladies operate, the role they are expected to perform and some advice on protocol, image management, etiquettes and security.

She stressed further that there is also a code of conduct binding the members of the forum, past and present, because as state first ladies, they are supposed to be role models as people look up to them.

“This code of conduct would ensure we are all on the same page when it comes to comportment and dedication to serving our people”. She said.

Responding, the incoming First Lady, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji appreciated Erelu Fayemi for all the good works done so far and promise to take her time to study the contents of the records and documents and use them wisely.
