Mrs Aduragbemi Animashaun-Euba, the gubernatorial candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Oyo State has revealed that her ambition is to become the first democratically elected governor of Oyo State.

She also said that the focus of her party is targeted at liberating Nigerian youths from unemployment if elected in the 2023 general election.

She further stated that the party is poised to change the narratives of governance in the state while affirming that the party’s structure is present in all the 33 local government areas of the state.

She said, “Our party, YPP is well represented in all of the 33 local governments of the state. We have been carrying out our research and mobilizing the youths. Our main leverage is on the youth and those that are desperate for a better and progressive state.

“We plan to do things differently because people are tired and they are clamoring for positive change. Our conversations with youths across the state have given us some views on knowing their plight”.

The YPP gubernatorial candidate made these submissions while featuring on a weekly radio show, Ayekooto on Radio’ anchored by Olayinka Agboola and broadcast live on Splash 105.5FM, Felele Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State last week Tuesday.

Speaking on her motivation for joining politics, she revealed, “What I understand from politics is service and it is something I have been involved in at a very young age. My parents were missionaries and I started mission at a very young age with them.  Then we always go to villages around Badeku and neighboring towns to share resources with them and even on my own part, I have been involved in a lot of charity works including building and developing people. Politics to me is a way of reaching more people and to add value”.

She further stated that her party does not believe in the acts of godfatherism and imposition, while affirming that she has a working cordial relationship with other stakeholders within her party.

The fashion entrepreneur turned politician revealed that she started her booming fashion business at a very young age under the tutelage of her mother while urging people to take fashion as a very important aspect of life.

Mrs Aduragbemi further stated that people and friends saw her participation in politics as time wasting, while affirming that women are role models who have the capability of turning the table around in politics and thereby making things easier for the people.

She said, “Our role as women is not just to be dancing behind politicians, shouting or sitting at home, we are home builders and we have the strength. It is saddening that we have been under estimated, and been pushed behind. The focus of our party is not to discriminate or underestimate the power and strength of the youth and women. That is why we are different as a party”.

She, however, urged politicians to shun every act of greediness while admonishing them to rule with the wisdom and fear of God in their hearts.
