Oyebanji’s Govt To Contractors: We Will Not Accept Shoddy Jobs

The Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Chief Monisade Afuye has called on contractors handling government projects to use quality materials and patronize indigenous artisans that will deliver quality job for the progress of the state.

Chief Afuye stated this in Ado Ekiti while inspecting the ongoing construction of the office of Council of Traditional Rulers and Bureau of Chieftaincy Affairs.

She explained that the present administration was passionate about the welfare of traditional rulers, Chiefs and other residents in the state, with a call on them to support government and always assist to monitor some of the government properties in their domains.

Chief Afuye who commended the immediate past Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi for coming up with the idea of building office for the council of traditional rulers, said that no projects would be abandoned.

The Deputy Governor said that  administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji would work to justify the trust Ekiti had in them and cautioned the Contractors handling government projects not to execute shoddy jobs.

She noted that the present government would leave no stone unturned to justify every Kobo expended on infrastructure, governance and economic development.

“What we are doing is for the benefits of the state, please make sure you deliver this project to specifications so that the building can stand the test of time, please I am begging you, make sure you buy quality materials and do the job as expected” Chief Afuye said.

The Deputy Governor said “in six weeks time, I expect this project to be completed, make sure that those handling every section of the building come to work on time. Please, supervise your workers to ensure that they do the correct thing, I don’t want shoddy job at all”

Chief Afuye who directed the contractor to make sure that works completed on the projects in six weeks time, said that the present government would continue to accord the needed support and respect to the traditional institution as a custodian of culture and father to everyone in the society.

Earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Bureau of Special Projects, Mr Tope Ogunleye who conducted the Deputy Governor round the building, said the practical work on construction would be delivered in six weeks time, promising that furniture and other equipment will be done before February next year.

In a remark, the Chairman, Ekiti Council of Traditional Rulers and Onisan of Isan- Ekiti, Oba Gabriel Adejuwon appreciated government for prioritizing the completion of the building.

Oba Adejuwon pledged the support of traditional rulers in the state to the present administration and prayed for its success.
