The Pre-trial conference of a celebrated lawsuit between Joseph Akinbiyi and his siblings over the Estate of their late mother has been concluded and the report will be rendered on the 19th of December, 2022.

The suit, which was filed in 2020 before the court of Hon. Justice O. M. Olagunju, was instituted by the siblings of Mr. Joseph Adeshina, who was the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Information, Culture and Tourism, challenging the authenticity of the Will of their late mother, Late Madam Mary Aduke Adeshina, especially when she named Mr. J.A. Adeshina and his daughter, Adeoti Adeshina as Executors and Executrix.

According to the will of the decease, one of her houses which she had willed to be used either as a hospital or a school, was sold to a gullible person in America with fake documents, and this generated lots of rancor among the siblings as Mr Joseph Adeshina was vehemently against it because it goes against the wishes of their late mother.

Mr Joseph Adeshina filed a counterclaim for the reversal of the purported illegal and unlawful sale of the property which forms part of the estate of their deceased mother amongst other counterclaims.

Speaking after the last hearing, the Manchester based entrepreneur said he did not understand what his siblings are after by going against the dying wishes of their mother.

“How could someone go against his or her dying mother’s wish in the Will all because of what, if I may ask?

“For over seven years, they have been collecting rent from tenants contrary to what is on the Will, without informing me until I was able to take over the property in February this year and I gave it out free to some couples and family to be living in there for free till date till the end of the case,” Adeshina said.

The Pre-trial conference was concluded on 22nd November, 2022 while the report of the Pre-trial conference will be rendered on 19th December, 2022.
