Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has inducted 10 Zonal Secretaries, to monitor activities of teachers for administration and impartation of knowledge in their various schools across the State.Â
Speaking at the induction ceremony in Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, Chairman in the Commission, Evang. Olalekan Ifede said the present administration had prioritised quality assurance among teachers, towards enhancing students examination performances.
Ifede, in a statement signed by the Press Officer of the Agency, Mrs. Gbonjubola Alao, noted that Zonal Secretaries were partners in progress in achieving the Affordable and Qualitative Education agenda of the government for improved academic standard, urging the inductees to be creative, exhibit diligence, wisdom and proactiveness in their official duties.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, TESCOM, Dr. Abdulwaheed Olanloye stated that emergence of the inductees as Zonal Secretaries was based on merit, encouraging them to act responsibly in their various offices and leave emulative legacies for their subordinates.
In his remarks, Commissioner IV in the Commission, Hon. Ademola Adeleye noted that it was imperative for Zonal Secretaries to monitor school activities and report detected anomalies of schools under their purview.
Adeleye, who doubled as the Chairman, Screening and Induction Committee charged the new Zonal Secretaries to be liberal and patient as leaders in their various assigned Zones for them to achieve a peaceful and successful tenure.
Two of the inductees, Alhaja Olubowale Awere and Mr. Oladimeji Adenekan expressed appreciation to the State government, assuring that they would be committed and active in their leadership roles.
