Olaide Abioye Becomes Crest FM’s New Head Of Programmes

A popular Osun born broadcaster and former volunteer staff of Great FM 94.5FM under the leadership of Professor Lade Adeyanju between 2008 and 2011 has emerged as the new head of programmes of a leading radio station in Ondo state, Crest 106.1FM Akure.

It was gathered that, the graduate of Physical and Health Education of the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife until his appointment was a management staff in charge of the Yorùbá Unit of the popular radio station.

Abioye’s appointment followed the recent resignation of the former Head of Programmes (HOP), Mrs Omolola Akinbo from the services of the station.

While announcing the appointment of Abioye as the new HOP, the station’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr Adeolu Gboyega charged Mr Abioye to build on the very solid foundation laid by his predecessor, while also admonishing all members of staff to cooperate with the new programmes head.

In his acceptance speech, Olaide Abioye who thanked the top management of Crest FM for believing in his capacity to deliver in his new office, promised to do his best to keep up the good work.

“Balogun Yebewo” a versatile broadcaster presents some of the flagship programs of the listener’s choice radio station, which attracts large number of listeners in and outside the state.

Olaide, during his undergraduate days was popularly known in the university community for his comical and descriptive Yoruba sports commentary style both on radio and during inter faculty competitions and other sports events in the institution.

The multiple award winning broadcaster, was nominated for the Indigenous Broadcaster of their year Award (Southwest) at the Nigeria Broadcasters Merit Awards in the year 2015 alongside other ace broadcasters across Nigeria.
