The Oyo State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC has paraded two suspected rapists.
Parading the suspects at the State Command Headquarters in Ibadan on Monday, the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Commandant Adaralewa Michael, released the names of the suspects as Tunde Kareem (Male), 33 years from Ede Osun State and Amos Michael (Male), 46 years from Abakaliki in Ebonyi State.
In a Statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of NSCDC in Oyo State, DSC Oyindamola Okuneye, the first suspect, Tunde Kareem who lives at Papa, Idi Osan Olodo road, Ibadan, admitted to have had carnal knowledge of his 11-year old daughter once before his arrest on 17th January, 2023.
Okuneye stated that the second suspect, Amos Michael who lives at road 7, No. 5, Agbati Orire Olasan road, Alakia in Ibadan defiled a 10-year-old female minor on the 15th of January, 2023 by taking her to a lonely road with his bike in the vicinity and had carnal knowledge of her.
He explained further that the second suspect (Amos) used to visit the shop of the girl’s mother to drink locally made herbs in order to get closer to the girl.
Okuneye, however, insisted that the corps will maintain its stand on zero tolerance for crime and criminalities and the misuse of children and protection of girl children in the state.
She added that both suspects have pleaded guilty to the offense and would be charged to court immediately as directed by the State Commandant, Commandant Adaralewa Micheal after the completion of their investigation.
