How Watch FC Won WALBOG Motors Football Tourney In Ibadan

The Watch FC emerged winner of the third edition of WalBog Motors Football Tournament during a final match played at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan on Sunday while a novelty match between Motor Dealers and Sports OAPs in Ibadan ended in a one all draw.

The Watch FC recorded their victory in dramatic manner after scoring 11 penalty kicks against 10 scored by Shafaudeen Patriot FC that ended as runners-up and carted home cash prize and many individual honors such as Best Scorer, Most Valuable Player of the tournament and Best Coach.

The donor and financier of the competition, Olawale Ogunkeyede the CEO, WAL-BOG Motors in his remark promised a bigger tournament when the event enters fourth edition next year with many new innovations that will make the tournament a topnotch.

“I want to thank all that contributed to the success of this football event, especially the leadership of Grassroots Football Talents Developers Association of Nigeria (GRAFTADEAN), for organizing the grassroots football tournament in an orderly and satisfactory manner. Let me reiterate that the next edition will be more elaborate because of new innovations that we will bring into it”, the WalBog Boss.

Speaking in the same vein, a supporter of grassroots football and a big backer of the tournament, Alh. Olayiwola Kolawole the CEO of De-KK Auto has also promised his continued support for grassroots football and WalBog Cup, saying any talent discovered from the tournament will be supported to further his football career overseas.

The CEO of the renowned destination management company, Ufitfly, Evang. Ajibola Ogunkeyede who graced the final as Chairman of the occasion also donated one million naira to support the tournament while declaring his interest to invest in grassroots football.

“Of course, God can send us to the few exceptionally talented ones among these lads to really go professional. You know we have connections world-wide because of our international tourism business at UfitFly. This is the first time I will be attending a final of a grassroots football tournament and I found it very interesting hence I would like to invest in grassroots football in the very near future”, said UfitFly boss.

Among dignitaries that graced the event were members of the Board of Trustee of GRAFTADEAN, Engr. Waheed Afolabi, Hon Jumoke Ogunkeyede Coach Wasiu Asanike and the Publisher of Parrotxtra Magazine, Mr. Olayinka Agboola among others.
