The presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party, Kola Abiola, has faulted the All Progressives Congress-led regime for imposing hardship on Nigerians with the flawed implementation of the naira redesign and cash swap by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Abiola made his position known in a statement by the PRP Presidential Campaign Council on Sunday.

He said it was unfortunate that a policy such as a currency redesign/swap, which should lead to improved financial inclusion and protect the interests of the masses, has been implemented in an insensitive manner by the present regime, thereby excluding the underserved citizens from the financial system.

He promised that, if elected, such uncoordinated and insensitive actions would become a thing of the past.

“We will never again experience this kind of avoidable misfortune that has befallen the citizens of this great country. As an administration, we will demand sound policies and coordinated implementation across the board from CBN such that things will be done the correct way,” he said in the statement.

He, therefore, urged the electorates to let their votes speak loudly on February 25, 2023, by electing him, thereby assuring Nigerians that the party will implement people-centred policies.

Meanwhile, Abiola has again reassured Nigerians to turn around the country for better if elected.

He said his first 100 days in office will witness monumental development while insecurity bedevilling the country will be tackled headlong.

Addressing party followers across the six states of the South West at the presidential rally held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, at the weekend, Abiola said his pedigree put him in a better a position ahead of others to be the next Nigerian president.

He said, “While with my father, the Bashorun of Ibadan in 1993, the presidential candidates of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and that of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, were also there, but regrettably they are still around 30 years after. Please, let us work together to repeat the victory of 1993 by voting massively for the PRP.”

While maintaining that the time has come to send packing those who have continued to milk the country dry, the PRP Presidential candidate said he would deliver on his promises to Nigerians with women giving more empowerment under his administration while youth would also receive more job empowerment.
