The Assistant Inspector General, Zone 11 Command, Akande Sikiru Kayode has held strategic management meeting with Oyo State Commissioner of Police, other Senior Officers and Election Security Management Team that will be involved in the forthcoming general elections to strategize for the electoral job.

This was in line with the drive of the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, for safe, secured and credible general elections as well as ensure adequate security coverage after the election.

The meeting was attended by the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Williams, CP Election Oyo State, Jesubiyi Taiwo and other senior officers.

The AIG, while addressing the Officers during the meeting held in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, noted that the meeting was aimed at putting finishing touches to the strategies being put in place for the maintenance of law and order during the election period.

In a statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the Zone, Ayeni Benjamin, the AIG charged the Supervisory Officers to ensure that all the Command’s human, operational and intelligence assets at their disposal are maximally deployed towards the provision of adequate security and respect for fundamental human rights of the electorates and other authorized participants in the elections.

Akande, who ordered the Officers to ensure that the election flashpoints are adequately policed to forestall untoward occurrences, warned that lapses of any kind will not be tolerated.
