Guber/HoA Polls: Oyo NSCDC Promises Adequate Security

Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) in Oyo State, Dr. Adaralewa Michael, has reassured residents of the State of the command’s readiness to ensure free and fair conduct of Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections in the State come March 18, 2023.

Adaralewa, stated this on Wednesday during a security briefing that comprises all Heads of Department, Heads of Unit and the Area Commanders in the State on the modalities to ensure a credible poll in the State.

According to a press release signed by the State Public Relation Officer, Oyindamola Okuneye, the Commandant charged the heads of all formations to be proactive and ensure that the electorates are well secured in order to perform their civic rights.

Adaralewa, appealed to all stakeholders involved in the electioneering processes to collaborate with security agencies and enjoined the electorates to be guided and abide by rules governing the conduct of 2023 elections.

He warned those who are determined to cause trouble on the day of election to have a rethink and not to be used for selfish interest as anyone caught trying to contravene the extant laws shall be dealt with according to the electoral act.

While commending the good people of Oyo State for their conduct during the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections in the State, Adaralewa emphasised the need for members of the public to strictly abide by the restriction of movement order.
