Ekiti Traditional Rulers Tasked On Need To Take Ownership Of Govt Facilities In Their Domains

The Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has charged traditional rulers in the state to take ownership of all public health institutions and other government facilities in their domains.  

Governor Oyebanji gave the assurance at a stakeholders’ meeting with Traditional Rulers in Ijero Local Government Area of the state.

The governor who described traditional rulers as important stakeholders at ensuring improved health care service delivery, appealed for their support in the fulfillment of his electioneering promises to the people in the health sector.

In a similar development, the Governor paid an unscheduled working visit to the State Specialist Hospital and Primary Health Centre bothat Ijero Ekiti, noting that the visit afforded him the opportunity to have on the spot assessment of the health facilities.

Oyebanji assured his administration’s commitment to the welfare of staff and people of the state, disclosing that his government is working relentlessly at ensuring that all public health facilities across the state measure up to the standard, accessible and affordable to everyone.

In his remarks, the commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Oyebanji Filani said the Oyebanji led administration has shown great commitment to the wellness and wellbeing of Ekiti residents.

Dr Filani hinted that the Governor has recently approved the paymentof hazard allowance to all categories of health workers in the state, giving facelift to most of the health facilities as well as disbursed Medical Financial Assistance to citizens who could not afford the payment of their medical bills, amongst other achievements.

While responding on behalf of the Royal fathers, the Ajero of Ijero Ekiti, HRM Oba Adebayo Adewole appreciated the governor for counting them worthy of the meeting and prioritizing the welfare of the people.

The monarch assured the governor of a robust support and a cordial working relationship with all Obas in the Local Government.

He prayed for a peaceful and successful tenure for the governor.
