Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Oyo State chapter has congratulated the Chairman of Oyo State Football Association, Oba James Odeniran and F.A Secretary Mr Kehinde Ojelowo over their re-election on Wednesday.

Oba Odeniran and Mr Ojelowo were re-elected to administer the football governing body in Oyo State for another four years at an elective congress held at Ilaji Hotels and Resorts

Others who retained their positions are the State F.A Vice Chairman, Mr Isaac Ayangbile, Ibadan Football Council Chairman Mogaji Rotimi Alli, ex international Mr Mutiu Adepoju as well as a member, Coach John Kayode Ogunleye among others.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Association’s Chairman, Niyi Alebiosu and its Secretary Adewale Tijani, Oyo SWAN said the retention of the F.A leaders is good for continuity in the running of soccer in the state.

The Association, while describing the re-election of the F.A leadership as an acknowledgement and endorsement of their good works, tasked the football administrators to continue to develop the round leather game from the grassroots.

The umbrella body of sports journalists in the state further admonished the re-elected leaders to quickly set plans in motion for revival of female football in the state. It noted with regrets that Oyo state which used to be among the power houses of women football is presently lagging behind, as evident in the non-representation of the state in the NWPL.

Oyo SWAN assured the re-elected F.A leadership of its continued co-operation with the football administrators and other stakeholders in their desire to continue to develop the beautiful game in the state.
