Oyebanji’s Govt Ready To Host NATOP AGM 2023

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has reiterated his commitment to Tourism development in the state.

Governor Oyebanji, made this known while hosting the representatives of the National Association of Tour Operators (NATOP) in his office in Ado Ekiti.

The NATOP delegates, led by the NATOP National President, Mrs Ime Udoh, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor in preparation towards their upcoming year 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM). which will be hosted by Ekiti State Government on July.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who emphasized on Tourism as one of the six pillars of his administration, said that Ekiti has a lot of tour sites that can boost the economy of the state. He therefore assured the delegation that strong collaboration of Ekiti State Government and NATOP is guaranteed as the state is ever ready to improve its economy.

Governor Oyebanji however disclosed that Bureau of Tourism will be created separately from the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism for effective operations and achieving the desired goals of Tourism development in the state. He said further that this will enable the Bureau to specifically focus solely on promoting and enhancing tourism which will eventually improve the sector and the state economy.

The NATOP President, Mrs Ime Udoh, while stating the purpose of their courtesy visit to the Governor, said that Ekiti State has a lot of potentials. that can attract Tourists and Investors into the state.

While analysing the goals and the mission of NATOP, Mrs Ime Udoh stated that NATOP promotes, markets as well as develop tour destinations and attractions across the country.

Mrs Ime Udoh said that Ekiti State is rich in culture and is blessed with lots of Tourists destinations and described Ekiti as the most secured place for Tourism.

The NATOP President promised that NATOP will partner with Ekiti State Government in achieving its vision of enhancing Tourism sector in the state. She emphasized that hosting the NATOP year 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) in July, will be a great opportunity for Ekiti State to exhibit its wealth of Culture and Tourism. She added that such event will showcase Ekiti as Tourism destination and attracts Tourists and Investors which will undoubtedly contribute immensely to the growth and visibility of Ekiti State Tourism Industry.

Present at the event was the Director General, Ekiti State Development and Investment Promotion Agency (EKDIPA), Mr Ayo Aribidara, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism, Mr Dele Ogunsemoyin, Director Tourism, Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism, Mr Adelusi among others.
