Rivers Governor To NGE: Put Nation’s Interest First

The governor of Rivers State, Mr Siminalayi Fubara has appealed to the Nigeria Guild of Editors (NGE) to put the interest of the nation first in its professional duties.

Fubara, in a statement to congratulate the NGE for electing Mr. Eze Anaba, Editor of Vanguard Media Limited as its President, urged the body of editors to uphold the principles of truth and fairness at all times to promote development and prosperity.

The Governor, in the statement signed by his Special Assistant, Media, Boniface Onyedi, commended NGE for electing Anaba, whom he described as a seasoned journalist with enormous experience.

He expressed confidence that Anaba would utilize his new position as the President of the Guild to promote social harmony and development.

Fubara said he would be looking forward to partnering with the Guild to advance the development of Rivers state under his continuity and consolidation agenda.

The Governor said he was particular about the peace and development of the state to take it to a greater height for the good of the people.

He congratulated the NGE for holding a successful convention in Owerri, Imo State and electing officers to pilot its affairs.
