Oyebanji Gives Out 39 Official Vehicles To Heads Of LG Administration In Ekiti

It was fun galore at the Fajuyi Pavillion as the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji distributed 39 official vehicles to the Heads of Local Government Administrations (HLAs) in order to enhance their day-to-day activities in their various LGAs.

While presenting the keys to the beneficiaries, the Governor who was represented by the Head of Service, Mr Bamidele Agbede, reiterated the commitment of his administration to the welfare of the Ekiti people at the grassroots.

Oyebanji called on the local government functionaries to discharge their duties as expected for the overall development of the rural communities.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Ekiti Motor Dealers Association, Alhaji Ibrahim Bankole expressed the delight of his members as well as appreciating the Governor for contracting the procurement of the vehicles to car indigenous dealers in Ekiti State.

Alhaji Bankole promised to mobilize members of his association to pay their taxes and levies to the state coffers to boost the internally generated revenue ( IGR).

In his comments, the ALGON Chairman, who is also the Chairman of Efon Local Government Area, Engr. Olabode Olatunji commended the government for patronizing the indigenous people in the procurement of goods and services, which according to him, will guard against capital flights.

Responding to questions from journalists at the occasion, the Chairman of Ido/Osi Local Government Area, Dr. Sola Ogunsina appreciated the Governor for inspiring the HLAs, urging the beneficiaries to to b dutiful, dedicated and uphold their status by showing exemplary leadership in their respective working environment.

In his welcome address the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Community Development, Mr Dare Jolumo said that the vehicles distributed to the beneficiaries were supplied in line with the principles of local content policy of the Biodun Oyebanji-led administration.

Mr Jolumo said the present government has done much for workers since October 16, 2022, particularly at the local government level, with a charge to them to reciprocate the gesture through dedication and hard work.

Some of the beneficiaries interviewed expressed their joy to the Governor for extending the gesture to the LGAs and LCDAs, assuring the state Government of their continued loyalty and support.
