LG Election: How Oyo Ex-Assembly Member, Olayanju Emerged Consensus Candidate In Olorunsogo

Ahead of the 2024 local government elections, the immediate past member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Irepo/Olurunsogo state constituency, Hon. Qosim Olayanju has emerged as a consensus candidate for Olorunsogo Local Government.

This was the unanimous decision of leaders and major stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the council area.

Recall that the party in the state had issued a deadline for the submission of forms to its Secretariat on or before Friday 14th of July, 2023.

It was gathered that Hon. Olayanju emerged the party’s flag bearer for the forthcoming council polls during a stakeholders meeting held at the PDP local government Secretariat, Igbeti, as party leaders threw their weight behind the ambition of Oke-Ogun born media expert.

PDP Leaders that were present at the meeting that produced Hon. Olayanju include Chief JG Adetoro, Ezikiel Babalola, Hon. Biodun Oni, Ganiyu Opeloyeru, Saminu Oladele, Ayantunde Ayandeyi among others.

Hon. Olayanju who on Thursday presented his nomination form to the Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, being a prominent leader in the state, Oke-Ogun zone and Olorunsogo LG in particular, appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde for his leadership and passion for making Oyo State a better place for all.

The ex-lawmaker thanked the governor for providing a platform for young minds to serve under his administration and to make desired positive change in their communities.
