Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State is expected to host celebrities as Fuji music icon, Alhaji Rasheed Ayinde popularly known as Merenge King will officially join the league of Sexagenarians on 23rd of July, 2023.
It is thus, undoubtable that all is set for the big celebration of the diamond age with Mayegun of Yorubaland and it has been confirmed that King Wasiu Ayinde, K1 the Ultimate will be at the bandstand.
The veteran Fuji musician in a chat with media men in Ibadan said the organizing committee made up of his friends are in-charge of every preparation and they are not leaving any stone unturned in ensuring a memorable 60th anniversary celebration.
The milestone celebration will start with an all-white party on the 23rd July when the Merenge King officially clocks 60 years at Bolad Events Centre, located along Akala express, New Garage Ibadan, while the grand finale will hold on the 27th of July at Jogor Centre Event Hall, Liberty Road, Oke-Ado Ibadan.
“In certain cultures, the age of 60 is seen as the beginning of a new cycle of life, and is usually well-marked, hence the decision of my friends to constitute committee to organize a befitting party for me”, said Merenge King
He added that “K1 the Ultimate will lead other musicians numbering almost 30 to entertain top dignitaries, royal fathers, captains of industries and all my lovers that will attend the grand finale scheduled for 27th of July this month”.
