As Muslims all over the world celebrate Hijrah 1445 which marks the first day of Islamic calendar, the Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadan Land, Arc (Dr.) Hassan Olawale Giwa has sent his congratulatory message to the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiyy Agbotomokekere and all members of Imam-in-Council.

Arc Giwa also saluted the Aare Musulumi of Yoruba Land, Edo and Delta States, Alhaji Daud Makanjuola Akinola (De Damak), Asiwaju Babasaale Musulumi of Ibadan Land, Alhaji Lateef Oyelade, Asiwaju Adini of Oyo State, Alhaji Mutiu Oladejo (Onimalu), Iya Adini of Oyo State, Alhaja Shekinat Adekola, League of Imams and Alfas and all Muslim scholars across Ibadan land.

Asiwaju Adini, in a special message signed and made available to journalists, expressed his happiness for the progress and development of Islam in Ibadan land. He appreciated the mercy of the almighty Allah, who made it possible for all to witness Al-Muharram, which is the first month in the Islamic calendar.

While using the medium to call for more dedication, commitment and propagation of Islamic activities, Arc Hassan Giwa solicited for assistance to Muslim brothers and sisters who are in need at this time of economic hardship in the country.

According to him, “I want to appreciate the efforts of our fathers and mothers, imams and alfas, all Muslim scholars, who have been using their knowledge and wisdom towards the promotion of Islam over the years. I congratulate all Muslims in Ibadan land and beyond, especially today that we are celebrating Hijrah 1445, which is the first day in the first month in the Islamic calendar.

“In the spirit of celebration of this New Year, I want to use this medium to call on the wealthy among us to use the resources at their disposal to assist the poor and the less privileged people to survive the present economic hardship facing the country.

“As I am appealing to Muslim ulamas to broadcast the lessons and messages embedded in the Hijrah celebration as performed by Prophet Muhammed (SAW) to the younger ones so as to guide them in the journey of life, I will also urge them to continue to remember those God entrusted with leadership positions of this country in their prayers to salvage it from the present predicament,” Arc Hassan Giwa said.
