The Head Coach of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Randy Waldrum has said that his lasses are ready to face any opponent in the ongoing FIFA Women World Cup.
The Nigerian team qualified for the round of 16 after finishing as Group B runners-up behind co-host, Australia with their 0-0 draw against Ireland in the last group stage and will face the winners of that Group D, which England currently lead with six points ahead of their final clash with China.
Speaking ahead of their round of 16 game, Waldrum said there is nothing to be afraid of from England’s pedigree in football because his team is equally mentally and physically ready for any challenge.
“If it’s England, it’s the European champions. We’ve already played the Olympic gold medalists (Canada). We’ve already played the host nation (Australia),” he said.
“So it’s just going to be another one of those matches that we’ve already been playing in,” he said.
Nigeria will stay in Brisbane to play the winners of Group D, where England are in pole position with a three-point lead ahead of their final group game against China.
