After completing the signing of Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface, German Bundesliga side, Bayer Leverkusen are looking to add some serious firepower to their frontline with the signing of Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman.

Leverkusen announced on their social media channels that Boniface has inked a five-year deal to keep him at the club until 2028 from Union Saint-Gilloise for a fee of around €20m.

Having completed the deal for the 22-year-old big striker, an Italian publication, tuttoatalanta, has now reported that the German outfits have turned their attention to Lookman and have made contacts with Atalanta.

The report added that the Nigerian could be on his way to Germany if the German side are able to meet the demands of the Bergamo-based club.

“After Hojlund, Ademola Lookman also ends up in the sights of important European clubs,” the website wrote.

“According to  Relevo, the striker from Atalanta is in fact a market target for Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen. In the last few hours, there have been direct contact between Aspirin and the DEA to find out the outlines of the possible operation and now the leaders of the German club are studying the possible offer for the Nigerian attacker.”

Lookman was unarguably Atalanta’s best forward last season having scored 13 goals and assisted eight in 31 Serie A matches.

His impressive performances have caught the attention of the Bay Arena outfit, prompting them to explore the possibility of bringing the English striker to Germany.
