Former Al-Hilal striker, Odion Ighalo, has joined  Saudi Pro League outfit Al Wehda  even as Brazilian star, Neymar completed his move from French Champions PSG to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

Meanwhile, Mecca-based Al Wehda  officially announced Ighalo’s the deal via their social media channels, confirming  the Nigerian  commitment for a one-year term with the option for a potential extension.

Odion Ighalo, 34, has been a free agent after seeing his contract with Al-Hilal come to an end last July despite impressing for the Blues last season and scoring 19 goals in 27 games.

The Nigerian striker has been playing in Saudi Arabia since February 2021 when he joined Al-Shabab from Chinese club SH Shenhua, netting 52 goals in 71 games in the Saudi Pro League for both Al-Shabab and Al-Hilal.

Ighalo, renowned for his notable achievements during his time in Saudi Arabia, including securing the Saudi League championship and the King’s Cup with Al-Hilal and Al-Shabab, is set to embark on a new chapter with Al Wehda.

Earlier reports had suggested that the former Watford forward was contemplating a return to play in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) for a period of six months to a year, as revealed in his interview on Elegbete TV.
