Jaiz Bank Names Ahmed Hassan As New Acting MD

Nigeria’s premier and largest non-interest bank, Jaiz Bank Plc has announced the appointment of Ahmed Alhaji Hassan as its Acting Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

Hassan was appointed following the resignation of Jaiz Bank’s Managing Director, Dr. Sirajo Salisu.

A statement from Jaiz Bank on Wednesday in Abuja said the decision to appoint Hassan as Acting Managing Director was made by the board following the departure of Sirajo, who resigned and went on terminal leave.

Prior to his appointment, Hassan served as the Executive Director, Operation and Chief Finance Officer (CFO) at Jaiz Bank. He 29 years experience in banking, industrial, and academic sectors.

Hassan had previously worked at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), NAL Merchant Bank (now Sterling Bank), and Dangote Group as the Financial Controller of Kano Flour Mills.

Hassan’s banking experience covers corporate finance, banking operations, risk management, financial controls, and branch and regional banking.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, and an Associate of the Pension Institute of Nigeria.

Hassan was the bank’s Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and had previously served as Head of Financial Control and Acting Chief Financial Officer.
