The Special Intelligence Squad set up by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Commandant General and the Oyo State command of the corps have sealed off one production site in Ibadan where over 2500 liters of adulterated Automated Transmission Fluid (ATF), One plastic container of suspected adulterated grease oil, metal drums used for storage were impounded.
Parading the suspects recently at the production site in Gbekuba in Ido local government area of Oyo State, Dr. Michael Adaralewa gave the name of the suspects as Patrick Umeakuana who is the production manager of the site, and Adegoke Sunday.
Dr Adaralewa also informed that the name of the company both operated with is HVN LINK PETROLEUM PRODUCT LIMITED.
According to Adaralewa, all the impounded items would be taken to a relevant agency for elaborate laboratory analysis.
He equally made it known that the two arrested suspects and their accomplices now at large will be charged to a competent court of law within the jurisdiction after the conclusion of the investigation.
The Oyo state NSCDC boss later enjoined the entire citizens of the state and Nigeria at large that the conclusion of this investigation would expose other criminals involved in these acts and it would serve as a deterrent to other mischievous elements in the society.
“We urge Nigerians to be vigilant of the kind of lubricant and other fluids they use in their vehicles and production machines”.
