The pioneer chairperson of Oyo State Netball Association, Ambassador Romoke Ayinde has revealed reasons behind the science laboratory she commissioned during her 52nd birthday and the unveiling of Netball in Oyo State.

The laboratory was set up inside the swimming pool complex of Obafemi Awolowo Stadium for the use of students in Ibadan and its environs and interested students who are not privileged to have access to private lessons will enjoy the facility for science subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and even mathematics.

Amb Ayinde, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Kayrom Lee Group of Companies, explained that her vision for the uplift of youths in the state was her main reason for the establishment of the multi million naira laboratory.

“Some people are wondering why I set up a laboratory for students free? The reason is not far-fetched. Some people around cannot afford a private tutorial lesson for their children who are in the science classes and by providing a laboratory and teachers to teach them free, I believe I can be able to help them improve their educational level and again compliment government’s efforts in the education sector,” Amb Ayinde said.

Speaking further, the CEO of Kayrom Lee Ltd, who is also the Iyalaje Adini of Oyo State said because of the people in the hinterland who have no access to modern technology like telephone, email and so on and are interested, they should forward their details to a Post Office Box.

“Interested students should apply through the P O Box 19190, Dugbe Ibadan, Oyo state Nigeria to get Identity card to attend whatever classes that suit them,” she said.

Amongst the dignitaries that graced the occasion were Alhaji Daud Afolabi, the coordinator of NACOMYO who represented the Sultan of Sokoto, Evangelist Dr Funmi Aragbaye, who was also the mother of the day, Mrs Temitope Ayefele, who served as the special guest, Alhaji Atanda Bada, the Chief Imam of Oluyole Estate, CSP Mavis Ayokunmi, DPO of Challenge Police station, who represented the Oyo State Police Commissioner and many others.

Date for the commencement of classes will be announced before the beginning of next academic session.
