Nigeria’s Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina is upbeat Nottingham Forest will shake off the disappointment of their defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

The Tricky Trees fell to a disappointing 3-0 loss to the Reds with goals from Diogo Jota, Dominik Szobozslai and Mohamed Salah secured the win for Jürgen Klopp’s side in Merseyside.

“It was a tough game, which we knew we were going to have coming to a place like Anfield against a good Liverpool team,” Aina told the club’s official website.

“We tried to stick to the game plan but unfortunately it didn’t go our way. We wanted to be compact and try and play forward when we get the ball and take care of it.

“After we conceded, they had the momentum and ran away with it really.

“It’s always going to be difficult when your strikers are out, but nevertheless it’s a team effort and we have to put the work in which I felt we did for the majority of the game.

“Everyone knows how hard the Premier League is, every game is different so it will still be difficult going forward. It’s going to be a challenge and one we’re all looking forward to.

“I feel like the team can build and hopefully we get better results going forward.”

Aina made first start for Nottingham Forest in the game after spending few weeks on the sidelines due to injury.

His compatriot, Taiwo Awoniyi also made an appearance from the bench, making a quick return from a groin problem.

Steve Cooper’s side will host Aston Villa in their next Premier League game at the City Ground on Sunday.

Forest sit in 10th position with 10 points from 10 games.
