Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa has expressed his desire to play in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, again.

The former Al Nassr player stated this on an X space forum which our correspondent monitored on Saturday.

“I will always talk about the Nigerian league because I was once their product. And that placed me where I am today and till tomorrow, anytime I am going to stop football, I am going to come to Nigeria again and play in the Nigerian League,” Musa stated on X (former Twitter space).

“But this time, I am going to stay for a long time and play. To show you the love I have for the Nigerian League.”

Musa made his name with four-time NPFL champions, Kano Pillars.

The 31-year-old was the top scorer in the NPFL in the 2009/10 season.

The winger linked up with Eredivisie outfit, VVV Venlo the following season and after a decade in Europe, the former Leicester City winger rejoined Pillars for a brief stint in 2021.

Meanwhile, Musa hopes to feature in his third World Cup.

The most capped Nigeria international said he will be back on the squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June after he was left out from the squad that drew 1-1 against Lesotho and Zimbabwe in November.

“I hope to be back soon,” Ahmed Musa told BBC. It’s my dream to play in another World Cup. I believe we have a squad that is equally determined to qualify.”

Musa starred at the 2014 and 2018 tournaments where he scored a brace on those outings.
