Fathia Balogun, Others Expected In Ibadan As Alariwo Of Africa Hosts PERA Awards 2023

    Popular actress, Fathia Williams Balogun, Baba Lere Paimo and others are some of the prominent faces that will be on parade as Alariwo of Africa hosts the 2023 edition of his annual PERA Awards.

    This year’s edition is the seventh of the Pacesetters Entertainment and Recognition Awards (PERA).

    In a press statement over the weekend, the organising committee revealed that they will be honouring Chief Lere Paimo this year with a special Recognition Award for his outstanding contribution in the movie industry for over fifty years

    According to the executive producer, Mr Rotimi Martins, aka Alariwo of Africa, “Team PERA believes in a verse from our national anthem that says the labor of our heroes past shall never be in vain.

    “Eda, as the movie icon is called, deserves to be celebrated while alive and not when he’s gone.

    “Plans are already in top gear to give him an outstanding celebration, which will be exceptional and unforgettable

    “Baba is over 80 years of age and has brought happiness to our screens

    This is our own way of showing appreciation by reciprocating his gesture

    PERA is about celebrating indigenes and residents who have made an indelible mark in their chosen careers.

    Alariwo further revealed that “other awardeess include Prince Adeyinka Afonja, the CEO of Ace Mall and Supermarket, who will be honoured as the man of the year, Pharmacists Remi Omotosho of Bond Chemicals, will be honoured as business man of the year.

    “Mrs Shola Ige of Martha’s kitchen will be honored with the catering Amazon award, and Ebun Akinwale will be honored as the entrepreneur of the year.

    Reasons for PERA

    “One of the reasons that we believe that these people deserve these awards is because of the hard work that they put in by empowering and creating job opportunities for residents of the state

    “As a team, we are passionate people at heart, and whatever we do, we do to the best of our capability by selecting the best in the state to recognize them with a special Recognition Awards.

    “Our organising committee does not leave any stone unturned whenever we are planning for PERA annually.

    “PERA has been self-sponsored since inception but eventually partnered Chief Mrs. Evelyn Omolara Farounbi, the CEO, Marikina Fun Place, who is the wife of Ambassador Yemi Farounbi, OON

    “The partnership opportunities with Chief (Mrs) Farounbi has been very encouraging and rewarding in the past five years”.

    While speaking about the challenges he has encountered over the years, Alariwo said “sponsorship has been our major challenge, and we have so many prominent people who are supposed to see this platform as an opportunity to showcase their products by associating with us”.

    This year’s edition of PERA comes up on Sunday the 10th of December at Mauve 21 Event Center, Ring Road, Ibadan from 3pm.
